The Rundown: Steve Rogers recruits a new group of Avengers to take on the vampire threat infecting the world.

The sky has gone dark and in its wake, vampires have invaded the world. Captain America puts out an alert to any Avengers in the area. Answering his call are Hercules, Hazmat, Hawkeye and an angry Quicksilver who is more interested in rescuing his sister than saving the populace under attack.

As the team takes on the rampaging vampires, Cap rallies his troops to bring them down and rescue the civilians. As they move further into the city, Captain America discovers a group of Nazi vampires herding civilians together. After taking them on, he discovers who they’re working for and prepares to take on a familiar face.

The Story: MacKay delivers an exciting story in this issue. The entire Blood Hunt series started in darkness thematically and this story delivers on the promise of heroism from characters like Steve Rogers and Hercules. I like the strange mixture of characters in this team and the drama that they bring to the story. I also really enjoyed the villains in this issue as well and how well they connect to the core of Captain America and his history.

The Art: Villa delivers thrilling visuals throughout the issue. The art is beautifully detailed and filled with great action. It does a fantastic job of capturing the frenetic energy of the story.
